trashgirl lore

Now I can drop the "we" act. trashgirl is just me (My name is Ky!), I manage everything for trashgirl by myself! I design, make, market, and ship everything out of my studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Each and every item is made with so much love and care, a piece of my heart goes into every item I make. It means the world to me to be able to make these items. I taught myself everything for trashgirl; how to sew, screen print, take photos, set up a website... the list goes on (seriously, we'd be here forever! I'm just listing the fun stuff). trashgirl is DIY, which is just how I like it. I'm not here to pay someone else to design boring tech-packs for me and get it manufactured overseas. I make my own sh*t, just for you.

I started trashgirl at 16 out of my childhood bedroom in the middle of the pandemic. I DIYed my own clothes for as long as I can remember, whether that was Sharpie band tees or hacking off the back of a perfectly good tee, and really never stopped.

All items are inspired by alternative culture, you can find influence from different fashion sub-genres in each item, usually inspired by my favorite songs or albums, or whatever it is I'm interested in. I make what I think is cool and just hope you like it too. Each item is hand-made with high-quality materials, no exceptions.

All trashgirl items are handmade to order or pre-order only; this is to minimize textile waste. Items are only made once an order is placed, that way trashgirl never has to worry about over-production.

trashgirl is just a side project (for now). I do not do this full time. My pre-order and made to order schedule is set up to mesh with my life. trashgirl takes a bit more time than other brands you see online because I am sustaining trashgirl alongside my full time job and personal life.

I am so happy to have you here, thank you for being apart of trashgirl. I couldn't do this without you, yes I mean YOU! Thank you.

with all the love in the world, ky  ♡
