trashgirl lore
I started trashgirl started at some point in the midst of the pandemic when I was 16. All items are inspired by alternative culture, you can find influence from different fashion sub-genres in each item, usually inspired by my favorite songs or albums, or whatever it is I'm interested in. I make what I think is cool and just hope you like it too. Each item is hand-made with high-quality materials, no exceptions.
All trashgirl items are handmade to order or pre-order only; this is to minimize textile waste. Items are only made once an order is placed, that way trashgirl never has to worry about over-production.
Now I can drop the "we" act. trashgirl is just me (Ky!), I manage everything for trashgirl by myself. I design, make, market and ship everything out of my studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Each and every item is made with so much love and care, a piece of my heart goes into every item I make. It means the world to me to be able to make these items. I taught myself everything for trashgirl; how to sew, screen print, take photos, set up a website... the list goes on. trashgirl is DIY, which is just how I like it. I'm not here to pay someone else to design boring tech-packs for me and get it manufactured overseas. I make my own sh*t, just for you.
trashgirl is just a side project (for now). I do not do this full time. My pre-order and made to order schedule is set up to mesh with my life. trashgirl takes a bit more time than other brands you see online because I am sustaining trashgirl alongside my full time job and personal life.
